Penn State Offers Fully-Online Gero Re-tooling for Faculty, Nationally

Posted almost 8 years ago by Mary S. Johnson

In collaboration with the Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence at Penn State University, the Penn State School of Nursing has developed a cutting-edge Post-Masters Certificate Program in Geriatric Nursing Education. The primary goal of the program is to prepare Masters level nurses to be well equipped to teach geriatric nursing at both the associate and baccalaureate degree levels. The certificate program encompasses four fully-online and highly interactive courses: two courses in education and two courses in geriatric nursing taught by Penn State nursing research faculty members Dr. Donna Fick (Nursing 522, Comprehensive Assessment of Older Adults) and Dr. Rita Jablonski (Nursing 523, Interventions for Complex Problems in Older Adults). Dr. Jablonski, who is also the POGOe content editor, teaches her course this winter/spring, from early January to late April 2012, and seats are still available.
