Dear Community Leaders and Friends:

Florida's minority populations are now an emerging ethnic/racial majority.   At the same time, there are Floridians of various ethnic/racial backgrounds who are rural, low-income and medically underserved. These Floridians--emerging ethnic/racial majority, rural, low-income and medically underserved-often carry a higher disease burden than other groups, including age adjusted higher proportions of diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart and other cardiovascular diseases, HIV/AIDS, and infant mortality, among many others.

This letter comes as a Call of Action to partner with us in reducing health disparities in our community through the 3rd Annual Health Village 2012. The event will take place on April 21, 2012 at the 34th Annual 5th Ave Arts Festival copies of the event and flyer are included to share with others.
