Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are writing on behalf of Helping Hands Clinic to ask for your help once again. Although last year's Challenge Drive was quite successful, it was used mainly to fill a deficit in grant funding.  Although the picture is improving for the coming year, it is still critical for us to begin our annual Holiday Donation Match Challenge.  We continue to need your support because unfortunately, the Florida legislature had voted to not expand Medicaid in order to provide coverage to those below the poverty level.  Since this applies to 100% of our patients, we will still continue to be their primary source for health care.  Due to last year’s drive, we were able to provide 2,115 clinic visits to 482 different individuals through our Monday and Thursday night medical clinics.  In addition, there were 1,109 visits to our Women’s Health Program. The women’s program continued to offer a nutritious meal, clothing, showers, hygiene products, support group, and G.E.D. education programs in a safe and supportive environment. The year saw a significant increase in volunteers joining our efforts.  The monetary value of these volunteers was estimated at $468,042.15.   We are extremely grateful for both the dedication of our volunteers and the support we have received from you.

We are pleased to announce that once again we have been provided with the support to offer our fifth Donation Match Challenge.  Our volunteer donor and "Uncle Ike Family" has pledged to match the first $15,000 (and possibly $25,000 depending on the level of response to this challenge) donated to the clinic by December 25th. These funds will be used by clinic to support all aspects of program operations.  Donations by check can be made to the Helping Hands Clinic  and mailed to the:

Donations can also be made through the Pay Pal option on our web site: www.hhcg.org .  Please take a few minutes to view that site, including the video on the opening page.  We have sent this appeal letter both electronically and by mail.  If you’d like to be added or removed from our e-mail or physical mailing list, feel free to drop us a note or e-mail at: helpinghandsclinic@gmail.com.

We will be very thankful for your continued support during this important time.

Please feel free to forward this letter to anyone who you feel would be interested in supporting the Helping Hands Clinic.

 Sincerely yours,
